Kris Stump Racing

08/20/2008 - Milwaukee is one of Stumps favorite race events
Ohio veteran driver looking forward to returning to “Milwaukee Mile”

Slinger Wisconsin (August 19 2008) When it comes to racing at the Milwaukee Mile Kris Stump remembers the original ASA Touring Series and how the biggest event of the schedule was always Milwaukee.

“I can remember all the effort that was put into this event” commented Stump. “Every driver wants Milwaukee on their list of tracks where they have won”.

Milwaukee is the home town track of 5K Motorsports, Stumps team in the ASA Late Model Series. Team owner Ken Wills has raced at the historical “Milwaukee Mile”.

“We consider Milwaukee our home town track” stated Wills. “Slinger is just a few miles north and this weekend is a chance for us to perform in front of family and friends”.

The ASA Late Model Series Challenge 150 lap race is scheduled for Sunday August 24th at 1:00pm.

Kris Stump and his Stump and Associates, 5K Motorsports are looking to rebound from a disappointing finish just two weeks ago at Bristol TN.

08/13/2008 - Late race accident snatches a top five finish
Lapped car erases an otherwise great Bristol performance.

West Bend Wisconsin (August 12 2008) - Kris Stump and the 5K Motorsports Team came to Bristol with a mission; to be there at the end of the race in order to contend for the win.

Despite battling the other race teams Stump and the 5K Mototrports Team battled an unusual factor - tires. It seemed that the Hoosier Racing Radials were not the right selection for the 2008 ASA Late model Series battle.

With the race winding down, Stump found himself comfortably running in the fifth position with less than fifteen laps remaining. Then while attempting to pass a car twenty laps down, they suddenly crashed in turn one bringing out the race events final caution, but sending Stump and his 5K motorsports - Stump and Associates Chevrolet to the pits.

"The team did a fantastic job here tonight and we were looking at a fourth or fifth place finish. Once again the lapped cars did not respect the leaders. I don't know why he was still out there when he was more laps down than what laps were remaining in the race". Commented a very disapointed Stump after the race.

"Americas Premier Short Track Series", Challenge Division moves on to the "Milwaukee Mile" on the weekend of August 23rd and 24th to compete in the Governors Cup 150.

08/06/2008 - Anxious to get back behind the wheel at Bristol
Food poisoning sidelines Ohio driver at ASALMS – Salem In.

West Bend Wisconsin (August 4 2008) - When the ASA Late Model Series rolled into Salem Speedway a couple of weeks ago Tipp City Ohio veteran campaigner Kris Stump was under the weather. Little did he know at the time that he had food poisoning?

“I was sicker than a dog” Stump commented from his Ohio home this past week. “I can’t tell you how hard it was just to qualify for one lap”.

In order to retain the points with a substitute driver, it was necessary for Kris Stump to qualify the 5K Motorsports, Stump and Associates Chevrolet. He was then replaced in the car by Chuck Barnes Jr. for the 200 lap race.

It was not until Kris went to the doctor early the following week that he was diagnosed with food poisoning.

“That’s all behind us now. Our focus is on Bristol and we will be glad to have Kris back in the car”. Stated team owner Ken Wills.

This is the second visit by Stump and his 5K Motorsports Team to Bristol and the team is anxious to return to the high banks in the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division. Stump remains positioned in the seventh spot of the points standings and is looking to improve his position at Bristol.
